Hello and welcome again to Completely Unreliable Movie Reviews, where I review movies that I've recently watched to the best of my ability. Note that these aren't like blockbuster movies. You know those movies, so I won't be reviewing that kind, you know? What I'm saying is watch these movies I recommend, or else...
Anyway, let's get started.
Our first movie is Split. This is the latest film directed by two-hit wonder, M.Night Shamalamalamalamalam. It's about 3 girls who get kidnapped by a guy (played by James McAvoy) and held captive for some ulterior motives. Oh, and he has Multiple Personality Disorder, which could come out at any and every moment. I must tell you that it's kinda insane to watch. Oh oh and watch out for the twist ending. It's actually a good one, if you've ever watched this guy's films.
You're Next is a 2011 slasher horror film directed by one of the finest new horror directors of our generation, Adam Wingard. It's about a mother and father who get their family back together for one night to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary and clearly, stuff gonna go down. I mean, the house suddenly gets invaded by guys in animal masks hell-bent on killing the family. I don't recommend this to people with a weak stomach and yet, I got a bit queasy and unnerved by a lot of the ''death scenes''. WATCH OUT FOR THE WIRE!!
Ghost in the Shell is a futuristic action film set in a time when cybernetic technology really is at the forefront. It's about a woman named Major, who works for a corporation called something something Technologies (clearly don't remember) and she's trying to stop a rogue cyborg when memories of a past she can't remember starts popping up. Oh and she's also a robot or cyborg. Still her human brain in it, but in a cybernetic body. I wouldn't mind having robot parts - shooting from my hand Iron Man style. It's a good movie, highly recommended. Also, it has Scarlett Johansson in a nude bodysuit, so may your fantasies run wild.
Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping is a 2016 mockumentary directed by the Lonely Island team. It's a story about Conner4Real, a global pop star in the mould of Justin Bieber (urgh!) and a documentary team documents his life when his second album is about to hit. It also showcases his past, when he was in a boyband. It's like when Justin Timberlake made it big and the other members of N'Sync just stopped doing things. It's something like that. Watch this if you need a laugh.
Lastly, I decided to review a series, because I watch more series than movies and it would be unfair to me not to review at least one, so here it goes. SANTA CLARITA DIET! It's a horror comedy series starring Drew Barrymore. It's about a realtor who is going through some ''life changes'' and her family (and the neighbour's kid) tries to help her along the way, so that she doesn't stray. I can't tell you more that, because everything is revealed in the first episode and I don't want to spoil it. But it is hilarious, so check it out! Unless you're still into things like 13 Reasons Why, then in that case, WATCH THIS SHOW!
