It was Saturday morning, 10th November 2012. I decided to watch an action movie with my friend. We went to a nearby mall, and after trying a lot, I found one. Not an action movie as such, but sounded interesting all the same. The movie was an epic drama named Cloud Atlas. Really guys, it was a good opportunity for me to get a chance to watch this movie. I want to share this film with you all. The film is an ambitious portrayal of how the actions of people, be it good or bad, have a ripple effect on the lives of others. Regardless of whether events occur in the past, present or future. Firstly, I want to give an historical view of this movie. (Photo not found) Historical View: Cloud Atlas is a 2012 German science fiction drama film written and directed by Lana and Andy Wachowski and Tom Tykwer. It was adapted from the 2004 novel by David Mitchell. The film itself is set in various different time periods (period pieces set in the mid 1880s and 1930s, a conspiracy thriller in the 1970s, a modern quirky comedy, two science fiction fables in the future and so on) and each character's story is marvelously fleshed out, both literally and figuratively. This film boasts an outstanding cast of actors Cast: Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Hugh Grant and Susan Sarandon. Directiors: Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer and Andy Wachowski. Duration: 2 hours and 45 minutes. (Photo not found) The film is divided into six stories with plenty of ''wow'' moments. All the top cast members play six different characters. Indeed, you will get to see the all-star cast play everything from rum-chugging pirates to warriors in a post-apocalyptic future. In fact, one of the most amazing things about this movie are the excellent makeup effects. Investigations on evil industrialists, sci-fi villains, car chases, battles with sub-human people it's all happening here. Another fantastic element about this movie is that the connection between each story and all it's characters fall into place, like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. It is also pretty apparent that karma and déjà vu play a big part in Cloud Atlas. This is because the whole cause-and-effect theory is used conveniently as the conceptual glue. All these parts hold together in the movie. This movie is intelligently made, while the first half of the movie's story progresses forward, the second half goes somewhat back in time. There is some dead-weight here. There are a few brief scenes that seem redundant. Kaleidoscope of stories are clear though. Simple narration of several love stories develops an interest to watch this movie. By the time the movie ends, you won't be left wondering about the message it's sending. Tip: You will not like this film if you do not like epic dramas with multiple storylines. It's a good movie for couples. You may get an impressive reaction from your partner! Author: Me
