A horror movie by the director Robert Eggers, released in March, shows us a film full of drama, suspense and terror in a more intense level than we usually find in movies and series involving mysticism, paranormal events, and witchcraft. (Photo not found) The plot takes place during the XVII century in New England, involving a family that was expelled from a community for quite peculiar religious habits. The family consists of a couple of peasants, four children, and an older daughter. They move to a secluded area surrounded by woods and valleys located away from a nearby village. It is the place where the events will occur that will make the life of this family a real terror. Slowly they face a several increasingly intense curses as scarcity of resources for food, the disappearance of a baby and death of animals. (Photo not found) (Photo not found) The film has a good ambiance in a natural space, the costumes of the characters greatly enhance the lifestyle of peasants of the time that it passes, and the music is very intense and suits in every moment of the film especially in scenes where there is enough suspense. As I mentioned earlier the film is very well produced and natural, makes us imagine the real conditions and the life style of the family. One negative point is present only at the end of the movie where there the special effects do not match the reality of the environment. Author: Me
