Hello everyone! I am not sure if you know I love watching foreign movies from a lot of countries and cultures. I surely do. That is the reason why I'm making a short list of my favorite movies I've watched recently.
The great movie "3 Idiots" comes from India. The Bollywood film was written by Rajkumar Hirani and went absolutely successful - $21 million just in India. To my opinion, “3 Idiots” gives as a huge message - how important the friendship can be. The brilliant actors made the movie a big pleasure to watch with your family. The film director was able to blend a hilarious plot with and drama into the amazing movie. Higly recommend this one of the best Bollywood films.
The 2nd movie is "Waste Land" from Brazil. I decided to watch this movie when it got some awards including a nominee for The Oscar: "Best Documentary Feature". I've never heard about "Waste Land" before. My first impression was shocking because of such an excellent filmmaker's way to express the problem. The beauty of art and human being? Or this is the art of own spirits? The art of devastating poverty. So emotional.
"The Stoning Of Soraya M." comes from America, but the movie is about Iran. If you feel you can watch the cruelty in movies, the plot of the movie will impress you and leave you speechless. The fact that it was based on the true story makes you very sad. A lot of people were saying they don't like Islamic laws or traditions in Islamic countries, but that is not a point. I liked the thing said by one viewer: "Sharia law was used as an excuse. A man wanted to get rid of his wife. I did not come away from the movie hating Islam and/or Islamic men. I came away from it hating human nature."
