Hello and welcome to the second part of the Completely Unreliable series, where I decide to review series ( and mainly because I haven't finished my movie review article, so I hope this one gets published first. Come on, Miss Editor in Chief).
Master of None is a comedy series that shows on Netflix. It stars Aziz Ansari as an actor in New York, living his life in different situations. It really is a good series, better than the normal comedy shows you see on television. And it also brings up issues you dont usually see on tv, like a black lesbian coming out to her mother, Indians on TV, etc. I highly recommend this show.
The Sinner is a thriller/drama which is about a woman who one day decides to stab a man in broad daylight at the beach in front of her family and the detective who's assigned to her case and is a bit of a freak. Stars Jessica Biel and Bill Pullman. Tis a really good show to watch if thrillers are your jam.
The Gifted is a fairly new superhero show that's set in the X-Men universe, set in a time after the X-Men and the Brotherhood and the "mutant" problem is kept in check. The story follows a family who has to go on the run from the government after it's found out that the kids are mutants. From what I've seen, it's a pretty fun show to watch and get into. Speaking of X-Men shows...
Legion is another comic book show set in the same X-Men universe constructed by the genius that is Noah Hawley and it revolves around a guy named Ben or something who has mutant powers (and could be the most powerful of them all). What makes this show worthwhile is that it needs multiple viewings because it's been a few months since I've seen it and I still don't know what the hell went on in that show. Messes with your mind, man, but it is most definitely worth the watch.
Lastly, La Porta Rossa is an Italian supernatural crime show about Castroglio, a detective who one day dies in a shootout while following a crucial lead and instead of heading into the light, decides that it's not for him and instead roams around his city and tries to somehow take care of his widowed wife, Anna before the same person who killed him, kills her too. He doesn't know who did it, so he enlists the help of a high school girl who's the only person who can see him (she's got issues of her own). All and all, it's a good show with a really good soundtrack. I highly recommend this if you're into supernatural shows that isn't called Supernatural.
