Hello once again to my successful series, Completely Unreliable Movie Reviews, where I review the last 5 movies that I've seen to the best of my ability. Now after the huge success of my last post (0 Likes, 0 Comments), I've decided to shake it up a bit since I have watched a few blockbusters in the past month, so these might be films that you like. Anyway, onto the reviews!
Wonder Woman is the story of Princess Diana, who grows up among the Amazons and one day, she meets this guy who takes her to go fight the war (I assume it's World War 1) alongside him and a Frenchman, a drunk Scot (I could have just said Scot, because who knows the difference) and a Native American, while at the same time looking for the god of war, Ares himself. Honestly, this is a good superhero film, for women, by women and it's way better than all the DC films (until Justice League comes out). I think I may be in love with Gal Gadot after this. And those who don't like this movie can suck it!
Sleepless is a film starring Jamie Foxx as a dirty cop who steals a whole lotta cocaine from the wrong people and has to give it back to them before they kill his son. It's a standard action thriller, couple of fight scenes and somehow I had to switch it louder because Jamie Foxx is doing his best Jim Caviezel impression: You can't hear a damn thing from him. Otherwise though, if you're into action movies in general, it's worth watching. I dont want to give away any spoilers, but things aren't what they seem *nudge nudge wink wink*
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is the much anticipated sequel to part 1, set a few months after the first film. All I can say is that Peter meets his dad, who is like a god or planet or something. It's of equal measure to the first movie, but I still prefer part 1 over this one. They try to force the humour on you and that doesn't tickle any bone of my body. As far as superhero movies goes, it's high up on the list to watch.
The Fate of the Furious is, well, you know. Cars, guns, races, girls, Dom betraying team, team tries to get Dom and his new crew, submarine, The Rock giving someone the Rock Bottom. Kinda standard stuff, along with the Latin music. I swear I heard Despacito on the soundtrack or maybe it was just me. I actually don't prefer this movie. Something about it feels a bit forced and I think it's time to retire the series.
Fist Fight is a comedy starring Charlie Day and Ice Cube as an English teacher and a History teacher respectively. English teacher gets History teacher fired and Ice puts on his best scowl face and threatens to rip the nuts off the English teacher and challenges him to a fist fight after school. Now this is the kinda comedy I can get behind. I'm pretty sure most of you will know what it's like, watching a fight after school. But when it's teachers fighting, it's just 150% better. The supporting cast ain't bad either.
