So the Rugby World Cup has reached the halfway point, with the next edition set in 2019 in Japan. As a South African, I was eagerly awaiting for the draw, knowing that we could have been placed in a tough group considering we were placed in Band 2, meaning South Africa could have been placed in a tough draw. The draw for the Group Stages took place today in Kyoto, Japan and here are the groups as followed: So my immediate reaction to the draw was a bit sweary, but for good reason since my country, South Africa, was drawn with New Zealand. You can't imagine the bad luck we were dealt to get the best team in the world, but it's too one of the biggest rivalries in world sport, so as much as I'm terrified, I'm excited too at the match-up. Other matches that look really good and I'm looking forward to are Ireland vs Scotland from Group A, Australia vs Wales from Group D and from Group C (The supposed Group of Death) featuring France, England and Argentina. The other countries that weren't announced and has to qualify are most likely to be USA, Namibia, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and possibly Romania. All will be know by the end of 2018, when the qualifiers are completed, so who knows. Maybe your country might actually qualify for this beautiful spectacle in 2019. The Rugby World Cup 2019 takes place from the 20th September to the 9th November 2019. Stay tuned Source: Pickles0 0
