CAF opted to change the voting system for the Team of the Year for 2017, with fans being given the option of picking the team via Twitter polls on the CAF page. CAF Player of the Year finalists Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were a couple of the big omissions. There were three South African-based players in the team last year, but there was no place for any PSL stars this year. Mamelodi Sundowns duo Denis Onyango and Percy Tau and SuperSport star Jeremy Brockie were some of the options to choose from the polls on the CAF twitter page. CAF Team of the Year 2017 Goalkeeper: Ayman Mathlouthi (Tunisia) Defenders: Ali Maaloul (Tunisia), Eric Baily (Ivory Coast), Ahmed Fathy (Egypt) Midfielders: Achraf Bencharki (Morocco), Karim El Ahmadi (Morocco), Mohammed Ounajem (Morocco), Junior Ajayi (Nigeria) Forwards: Khalid Boutaïb (Morocco), Tahayassin Khenissi (Tunisia), Mohamed Salah (Egypt) Who do you think should have been included in the Team of Year?
