The Founder of Facebook, World’s largest Social Networking site, Mark Zuckerberg yesterday made an unannounced visit to Nigeria. The tech billionaire surprisingly made a stop at the Co-Creation Hub in Yaba Lagos to the amusement of officials and participants of ongoing activities at the hub. Zuckerberg also inspected and lauded the activities of the Hub. His visit to Nigeria is believed to be related to the ongoing ''Facebook for developers workshop'' currently taking place. The workshop is designed to help and improve on product Engineers in the country and the partners are expected to meet today as part of the activities of the workshop. The 32-year-old tech entrepreneur is visiting Africa for the first time and Thelink investigations reveals that his visit was kept as top secret for security reasons. At his visit yesterday to the ''Summer of Code Camp'' at the Co-Creation Hub (CcHub) in Yaba, popularly referred to as Nigeria’s silicon Valley, he met with young developers who were learning how to develop and code their solutions while searching for venture capitalists to invest in their start-ups and mentors. At the CcHub yesterday, Mark Zuckerberg met with Temi Giwa, a young developer who developed a platform called Life Bank. Life Bank saves as an avenue for taking blood inventory of all bloods available in Nigeria and makes it readily available anywhere in Nigeria when it’s needed. Life bank has made it easy for blood to be easily delivered in the right condition to all locations in Nigeria. Zuckerberg’s facebook has well over 1.65 billion active monthly users worldwide by March 2016. In Nigeria, there are well over 7.1 million active daily users of facebook. This figure makes Nigerians the highest users of Facebook on the continent of Africa and Zuckerberg’s visit might not be unconnected with this fact. The Facebook founder in his remark said ''This is my first trip to sub-Saharan Africa. I’ll be meeting with developers and entrepreneurs, and learning about the startup ecosystem in Nigeria.'' Zuckerberg is expected to meet and interact with developers and tech professionals today at the Eko Hotel and Suites today. He will also address the press .
