Scientific discoveries and inventions have succeeded to fascinate men throughout the ages. They are the game-changers that turned the course and marked the pages of the history of mankind.

Given below are six such recent scientific findings.

VOYAGER 1 EXITS SOLAR SYSTEM

(Photo not found)

NASA Voyager 1 spacecraft has become the first man-made object to breach interstellar space and leave the solar system. It is currently 18.3 billion kms away from the sun and 18.2 billion kms from the earth 36 years after it was launched. The plutonium powered spacecraft is believed to have entered the interstellar space on August 25, 2012.

NEW MOLECULE THAT MAKES HIV KILL ITSELF

(Photo not found)

In a breakthrough, researchers of Drexel University have created a microbicide that can trick HIV into killing itself without disturbing any healthy cells. The microbicide DAVEI (Duel Action Virolytic Entry Inhibitor) is the latest in a new generation of HIV treatments.

NO SIGNS OF LIFE ON MARS

(Photo not found)

Hopes of finding alien life on mars may have been dashed after new data from NASA 'Curiosity' rover revealed that the Red Planet lacks methane gas. Whether the Martian atmosphere contains traces of the gas has been a question of high interest for years because methane could be a potential sign of life.

MINI BRAINS GROWN IN LAB

Scientists based in Austria have grown the first mini human brains in a laboratory and say their success could lead to new levels of understanding about the way brains develop and what goes wrong in certain disorders.

10 SUPER MASSIVE BLACK HOLES SPOTTED

(Photo not found)

In a major milestone, Nasa's new blackhole-hunter spacecraft - NuSTAR - has detected its first 10 super massive black holes, lying at the hearts of distant galaxies between 0.3 and 11.4 billion light-years from Earth. The new black hole finds are the first of hundreds expected from the mission over the next two years.

EARTHS LARGEST VOLCANO FOUND

(Photo not found)

Earth's largest volcano - and possibly the second largest in solar system - has been discovered at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. Covering an area of 310798 sq km roughly equivalent to the British Isles or the state of New Mexico. The volcano dubbed Tamu Massif, is located about 1,609 kms east of Japan. Olympus Mons on Mars, the largest known volcano in our solar system, is only about 25% larger by volume than Tamu Massif.
