Far away, but always near,
A parting for now, not eternity,
Your presence and scent still linger here
I heave a sigh and shed a tear...

Memories were made, never to be forgotten
Winning goldfish at the fair, eating candy cotton,
Hundreds of kisses, still imprinted on my cheek,
The belief you'd always be there, any day of the week...

But now you've passed on, to a more beautiful place,
Earth was too small to contain your intelligence, beauty and grace,
So now, every accolade I receive, for all that I do,
Know I do this, with love, and in memory of you...

For everyone, that's ever lost someone close to their heart
