We all know that hair is precious and a natural endowment of nature. It is our PRIDE which makes us look dignified and exquisite.

Research has given us insights on how some kitchen ingredients are used as daily routine to keep hair from falling away.

An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but try include avocado, banana, coconut milk and carrot to prevent hair fall, says an expert.

* Avocado: helps strengthen and repair damaged hair; because they are rich in Vitamin B and Vitamin E. Not only do they strengthen the hair, but also moisturizes it. You just need to mash an avocado and add egg yolk together and apply on the hair. Leave for 20 minutes before washing off.

* Carrot: are great for hair roots; they give the hair much needed strength. Extract carrot juice with the help of a juicer machine and keep it in the fridge for 30 minutes. Apply directly to the hair to avoid hair loss.

* Onion: it reverses hair loss and opens hair follicles. Thinning of hair which is caused by fungal and bacterial infection can also be avoided. Extract onion juice and apply on the hair follicles. Wash it properly after 20 minutes to avoid the smell of onion.

* Banana: is a very rich source of potassium and vitamin A. It is extremely good for hair strengthening and smoothing. Banana and honey hair mask revitalizes damage and weak hair. Mix one mashed banana with one tablespoon honey; apply the mask on the hair roots for about 15 to 20 minutes and wash thoroughly with mild shampoo.

* Coconut milk: not only coconut oil; coconut milk is also good for strengthening hair roots. Coconut milk and honey mask together is a good way of regaining lost hair strength. Mix coconut and honey together and then apply on damp hair; massage into the scalp and leave it for an hour. Wash properly with mild shampoo afterwards to get best results.

* Oatmeal: oatmeal mask nourishes oily scalp and strengthens hair through treating dandruff and protecting hair follicles. Blend a tablespoon oatmeal with a cup of fresh milk and almond oil together to make a paste. Apply this mask onto hair after properly entangling it. Wash off with lukewarm water after 15 to 20 minutes for best results.
