Ups & Downs For Galaxy 9.1 Beta! Netflix, 27 июля 2016 г., 11:32
A new beta was released a while ago for Galaxy, I decided to become a tester and check it out. So those are a few of ups and downs about the new UI.
Ups
1. Theme: You have to tell the truth, that the black theme does look very nice and the colors are well put together. Now at least 99% of it is black unlike old galaxy versions.
2. Quick Access: Now you can easily click on the rocket icon to fly to other planets instead of clicking on your avatar and choosing the option to go to another planet.
3. New Chat Design: The whole chat has been changed, new icons for the avatar. You can also see if users who sent the chat is a supervisor and or a planet owner.
4. One Down Button: all of us miss out a couple of messages so we go back up to check them, but the most annoying thing is scrolling back to the bottom. To fix this issue they have added a button that only appears once you scroll up and once you click on it, it will bring you back to newest messages.
5. No More Galaxy Stopped Working: One of the major issues I faced with Galaxy was ''Galaxy stopped working'' and especially if you enter and exit quickly, that issue seems to be patched up since I haven't had it since the update.
I could go on and on but to make this article short and sweet I only added the important parts (for me)
Now for
Downs
1. Entered the Planet & Left It: Now unlike before people leaving the planet and/or entering them will only show up on the top right for about 2 seconds then all you will see is that the image of their avatar is black and white which means they went offline, I don't like that since we don't really keep our eyes up to see who enters and leaves. But on the other hand they added a page to see who left and entered while you were on the planet.
2. Back To Me Button: Of course clicking on your avatar won't bring back the old menu, now just actions so how do you go back to your character? Will you need to click on the icon that's next to Information which has a user and arrow this isn't really much of an issue, I just hope that they made the arrow go with the direction your character is facing.
3. Emojis: Unfortunately they didn't add what I was hoping for, I had in mind that after all these years with Galaxy they could have added new Emojis but that didn't happen.
Things Developers should consider adding
1. Facebook And Google Log in: I wish that Galaxy will one day add a Facebook or Google log in or sign up such as this quick layout that I made
2. Avatar Icons: Imagine with me, instead of using our avatar rounded icons for comments, pictures, chat window etc... It will use our profile picture like this for an example
