6 Fairy Tales We Can Never Forget

We all love watching fairy tale movies, and some of us like reading fairy tale story books. The world of fairy tales is simply charming, lovely and magical with its castles, fairies, godmothers, talking animals, charming princes, beautiful princesses, dragons and stepmothers.

We have seen loads of fairy tales but some stick to our hearts and minds for a long time. Girls love the handsome prince and the beautiful princess finally living happily ever after. There might hardly be any woman who has not desired the life of one of these fairy tale heroines. Here are some fairy tales that we all just can not forget.

1. Rapunzel

Rapunzel, let down your hair, so that I may climb the golden stair. Voila! A long stream of golden locks falls down the tall tower to ferry the evil witch. How many times, would you have seen the magical story of the lost princess, the magic in her hair, the wandering but handsome prince and how it all folds into a beautiful ever after?

2. Snow White

Yet another fairy tale that popularised a chant. Magic mirror in my hand, who is the fairest in the land? A gorgeous and kindhearted princess is hated by her stepmother who is also the Queen of the kingdom. Snow White flees into the forest only to befriend seven cute little dwarfs. The Queen manages to find her hiding place and again plots to kill her with an enchanting but poisonous apple. In comes a charming prince and the rest is history.

3. Cinderella

Every little girl must have always wanted to be Cinderella. Several Hollywood adaptations of the beautiful and mystical Cinderella show how a humble, lovely but poor girl transforms into a strong, confident and brave woman with some fairy power, magic dust and a handsome prince. Transformation stories are always a winner and the quintessential glass slipper is mystical and more like a talisman.

4. Beauty and the Beast

A fairy tale that made its way into movies and hit music tracks, Beauty and the Beast is one of the most popular and exciting fairy tales ever told. The story of the power of true love that transformed the hideous beast into a handsome prince has been told several times. Beauty lives with the ghastly beast but goes home for a week only after promising that she will return. When there is a delay, the beast loses heart and is almost dead when Beauty comes to his rescue, and her true love wins her a lovely prince and a beautiful castle.

5. Hansel and Gretel

Remarkably different from the other happily ever after tales, Hansel and Gretel is the story of a brother and sister who wander into the woods and get lost. Then comes the dreaded evil witch who intends to make gingerbread of the duo to eat them. She feeds them to make them plump and ready. The story revolves around how the siblings manage to escape from the clutches of the evil witch and also manage to destroy her.

6. The Frog Prince

A persuasive frog that transforms into the most handsome prince is a fantasy, wilder than any. Although there are different versions of the story, each one of them is equally interesting and magical to read and watch. In one story, the frog transforms when he spends three nights in a row with the princess. In another, a kiss from the princess makes him the prince and in yet another, when the princess flings the frog to a wall, the transformation takes place.Every fairy tale has a beautiful ending. The good triumphs over evil and in the end, a beautiful kiss is shared by the beautiful princess and the handsome prince. Although the plot is similar, all fairy tales are enticing.

There is something in these tales that make you want to watch or read them over and over again.
